About Us
A Foundation of Innovation
For 120 years, we’ve been all about a good place to sit.
We began manufacturing children’s wooden wagons. In 1932, Albert Bemis switched to toilet seats, capitalizing on his employees’ woodworking expertise.
Twenty years later, we innovated a compression molding process for enameled wood seats that’s still in use today.
A Mission of Innovation
Four generations of family leadership later, we’re an industry leader with global locations. But we remain focused on innovations for everyday life.
That includes simple installation and slow-close rings and covers that will never slam. Durable, long-lasting finishes and sustainably made products that feel good in your home. Our built-in seats make potty training easier, while our Bemis Independence line delivers security and independence for users with a variety of physical needs.
A Future of Innovation
We look forward to the future with confidence and an optimistic spirit of innovation and invite you to take a seat and see where Albert’s can-do spirit leads us next.
